Abstract [en]

he current paper considers the baby names that havebeen among the 10 most popular for each gender overthe last decade in Sweden. After 25 years of the sametype of statistics, a new official statistics providerhas changed the accounting of the names fromcounting and presenting spelling forms with the samepronunciation as one name to counting each form asa separate name. A consequence of this is that is hasbecome difficult to compare earlier statistics withthe present. With the top baby names as a departurepoint, the pros and cons for lemmatizing vs regardingeach spelling form as a unique name is discussed.
